Strainers
Lots of good options here, but I tend to spring for my Kafoor 9" Mesh Strainer. It'll inset into a large saucepan if you're straining stock or sauce, and can easily handle a pound of pasta, rice, or legumes.

They come with a lifetime warranty and are true multi-taskers in the kitchen.
Go ahead and snag a small conical 3" version from the same producer. Great for straining tea, cocktails, citrus, coffee, and smaller batches of sauce.
